Dear Residents,
Garsfontein Secura Park has proved itself to be a successful and affordable security area. In our recent survey conducted amongst our residents we received 100% confirmation that we continue with our security efforts.
It is at this stage that it is important to stress that we can only make GSP work because 83% of our members pay their subscriptions regularly. We have managed to keep our fees at R210 per month for 4 years now only because of stringent budgeting and because all directors offer their time free of charge. At this point we would like to thank Daan Hugget for his tireless efforts in maintaining our security system, ensuring everyone’s safety.
In our survey several members complained about neighbours dogs. This is not security related but we ask that residents be considerate of each other. Please do not allow your dogs to roam the streets. Please ensure that your dogs do not run out into the street when you return home. Please remember your actions affect others. Be considerate!
Although every effort is made to ensure every resident’s safety, it is imperative that every resident remains vigilant. Do not become complacent. Constantly check your own security and make improvement s where necessary.
It is with regret that we have to say farewell to our office manager Steve Barry. Steve has decided to immigrate to America. We wish him all the best for the future!
Polla Swartz, a resident, has accepted the position. We are hoping that Polla’s enthusiasm and passion for GSP will inspire the remaining 17% non-members to sign up as members.
We are aware that we have several elderly residents in our area and would like to make sure that they are taken care of. If you are aware of elderly folk who could do with assistance please contact our office and we will make the necessary arrangements. If you are in a position to help our elderly folk please contact Polla and let him have your contact details.
We are constantly in contact with the City Council in connection with street lights and cleaning up of the Spruit. We were also involved in discussions regarding the circle in Jacqueline Street. This should make it easier for residents to get into Jacqueline Street from Adela Street.
Recently we hired a container to clear rubble that had been dumped in certain parts of the GSP. Please do not dump rubble on the pavement or at the end of a road. Take pride in your area and keep it clean. Please make every effort to keep your verge tidy and neat. It makes it easier to maintain security when there are no hiding places on verges.
We would like to have a GSP Fun Day on the 24 September, 2010. We would like to make it a Potjiekos day and will have a prize for the best potjie. We will like to use this opportunity to raise funds as we would like to purchase a new golf cart. We feel that visibility of the golf carts make residents feel at ease. We would also like to make sure that golf cart follows the municipal rubbish truck that come in late at night, as we feel that this compromises our security.
Finally we would like to advise residents’ that our website is now available again. A hacker destroyed our previous website and we have finally managed to rebuild our website. Once it is fully operational you will be able to log on to the website and register online. You will be able to update your own information which will enable us to give you better service.
We would like to congratulate Anook and Jan Grobelaar who are now the proud parents of twins!
Please remember, GSP works for you! Please continue to give us your support and encourage our non-members to join.
Enjoy the soccer!!
